This Week at JulTech: Expanding into Business Intelligence and Data Analytics

How JulTech's latest business school coursework in Power BI, ERDs, data warehousing, and analytics is expanding future service offerings beyond website design.

At JulTech, we believe that continuous learning is one of the best investments we can make, not only for our own professional growth but also for the businesses we serve.

This week, as part of my studies at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, I completed an intensive module in the accelerated course Summer 2026 - Intelligent Information Systems Design for Business Decision Making (MGSC-896-M10).

Throughout the week, I explored several foundational concepts that are shaping how organizations collect, organize, and analyze data to make smarter business decisions.

Topics I Studied This Week

Some of the key topics I studied included:

  • Microsoft Power BI for interactive dashboards, business reporting, and data visualization.
  • Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) for designing and modeling relational databases.
  • Star Schema vs. Snowflake Schema, two of the most widely used dimensional modeling approaches in data warehouse design.
  • Teradata Corporation's Data Warehouse Framework, an enterprise approach to building scalable data warehouses that support analytics and strategic decision-making.

Why This Matters for JulTech

While these concepts are often associated with enterprise data engineering and business intelligence, they also have meaningful applications for the services we provide at JulTech.

As we continue designing modern websites and digital solutions, understanding business intelligence allows us to think beyond visual design.

It enables us to create platforms that integrate with analytics tools, organize business data more effectively, and provide valuable insights that help organizations make informed decisions.

How This Expands Future Services

These new skills will help expand JulTech's future service offerings, including:

  • Business intelligence and analytics dashboards
  • Interactive Microsoft Power BI reports
  • Executive and client presentations supported by meaningful data
  • Database planning and information architecture
  • Data-driven decision support for growing businesses

Websites Are Becoming Intelligent Business Tools

Today's websites are no longer just digital storefronts. They are intelligent platforms that collect, organize, and transform data into actionable insights.

As businesses increasingly rely on analytics to drive growth, understanding the systems behind that data becomes just as important as creating an engaging user experience.

Learning That Strengthens Strategy

Studying at the Darla Moore School of Business, one of the nation's leading business schools, continues to broaden my perspective on how technology, information systems, and business strategy intersect.

Every course strengthens the foundation that JulTech is building to deliver more comprehensive digital solutions for our clients.

Learning never stops, and every new skill creates new opportunities to help businesses innovate, grow, and make smarter decisions.

At JulTech, we're committed to continually expanding our expertise so we can provide solutions that not only look great but also deliver measurable business value.

Thank you for following our journey as we continue to learn, innovate, and build the future of digital business solutions.
